In light of recent political events—and not just Brexit—it reminded me of a scene from BBC's Yes, Minister. The below is from Series 1, Episode 5: "The Writing on the Wall".
To those who are unfamiliar with the show, it is a highly recommended political satire. The show follows Jim Hacker MP (Paul Eddington) and his two principal secretaries, Humphrey Appleby (Nigel Hawthorne) and Bernard Woolley (Derek Fowlds).
