Well, it was only a matter of time before someone outright said it. In a briefing held by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on July 6, she said:
…president will outline five areas his team is focused on to get more Americans vaccinated:
1. Targeted community, by community door-to-door outreach to get remaining Americans vaccinated by ensuring they have the information they need on how both safe and accessible the vaccine is.
…
And finally, expanding our expanding our mobile clinic efforts, meeting people where they are, and making sure they are taking the vaccine to communities.
Well, that’s nice. Of course, she didn’t say people will be forced to get it but one wonders. And when a reporter asked the question, she replied that it is up to the individual. How reassuring for the government to adopt the method of annoying Protestants and Mormons who knock on doors. And vaccines aren’t even remotely as important as the Gospel.
If implemented, the logistics will be interesting. Are they gonna check who supposedly has received it already before even going door-to-door? Or are they gonna waste time and knock on every door? Are they going to circle back to each house as well?
